The bands latest single ‘Automatic‘ has all the distinct E&TW characteristics, yet avoids the poppy aura of the mainstay singles from their debut record Goodtimes, such as ‘All I Know‘ and ‘Futureman‘. The vocals seem to be set back a little more in this mix, particularly with the slight echoed harmony sitting so closely next to the lead lyric, yet this kind of works with the way the lyric is delivered in a slurred, almost rapped fashion. Also the strong beat of two makes it a tune you can easily have a sweet boogie along with.
